Environment and economy of livestock grazing communities

The profession of raising cattle and traveling for their needs is thousands of years old. People associated with this profession in Pakistan are called goats.

The majority of the goats are found in the northern regions of the country, Gilgit-Baltistan, Hazara Division, Malakand Division, Chitral, Balochistan, and Kashmir.

These people play a major role in supporting the environment, the economy, agriculture, and the food supply at the expense of their hard work.

In 2012, a joint research report from the Department of Environment, University of Peshawar and University of Bern, Switzerland reported that Hazaras and Malakand Division goats contribute more than nine billion rupees annually to the domestic economy.

The research report states that for the past 30 years, the process of transporting and transporting livestock to remote areas for the past 30 years has been a constant threat.

According to the report, if this series of risks continues, Pakistan will not only lose the production of traditional and cheap livestock but it will also have a very bad impact on the meat, leather and wool industry and it will be an environmentally friendly economy. Will also lose activity.

The chairman of the association All Gujar Bakarwal, Mohammad Inayat Parana, told the BBC that the people of the Gujar tribe who go to livestock business and travel for them are called goats.

She said that goats from different regions travel twice a year in the summer and winter.

Kagan's goats visit Haripur, Attock and surrounding areas. Gilgit-Baltistan travels from the mountains to the nearest areas of the city.

According to Mohammad Inayat Parana, the income of the goat people comes from the sale of goats and barns once a year. From these people, cattle are bought by traders and eager people all over the country who understand the difference between goats and nymphs who are raised on the farm and in the natural environment. Inayat points out that many people in Islamabad and other major cities make recommendations and give us goats and nuns.

  1. Simple numbers of people of a particular age tell us nothing about the condition of their health, the environment in which they live, and the support systems they can afford to pay for.

  2. We must respect such kind of profession people.
Doing such a good job is not always about impressive innovation. Sometimes it is only about doing something with plain dedication.
